What is SEO Writing? How to become SEO Writer?

What Is SEO Writing

Titles: the first thing Google looks at

It is clear that the titles mark the theme of what is going to be discussed in the following paragraphs, so it is normal for Google to give a lot of importance to these.

And not only Google, but they also have to be clear and specific enough so that readers know what to read next.

In some of these titles, it is important that the keywords or synonyms of those appear. We will see it below.

In addition, another key point is knowing how to create striking titles.

However, not all titles have the same priority for Google, so we will see them according to their importance for ranking.

The Title or SEO Title

Here there are many people who doubt or do not really know what is the title or title of an article or page.

The title is the heading that is seen in the Google search results and the phrase that will appear in the browser tab where you have said article open.

Do not confuse it with the H1 title that appears as the article title!

In case you still have doubts here you have this image.

seo titile or google title

Well, this is the title that Google gives the most importance to.

It is very important that the keyword appears in this title.

Also, the further left the keywords are, the better

But this is already more complicated since it must be taken into account that it has to be a striking title that captures the user’s attention so that it clicks on your article and not on that of another blog.

The H1, H2, H3 … when optimizing an article

These titles are already better known. And without a doubt, when writing an SEO content you must take them into account.

They are those that WordPress identifies as «Title 1» (h1), «Title 2» (h2), «Title 3» (h3), etc.

Of course, these titles must be placed in order of hierarchy. Do not put an h3 if it is not included within any h2, for example.

There is evidence that the ranking of an article is improved if it only has a single h1 title

However, it has also been possible to position an article with several h1s.

That is why I want to make a special mention to Title 1 or h1.

The title with h1 tag: the title of the article.

As I said before, the Title is not the title that appears as the title of the article. Rather, this will be an h1.

Therefore, once you have written your title in the WordPress section enabled for it, do not write any other h1 title again; continues with h2 titles .

Now, what is there to write on the H1?

Well, it must be a different title than “Title” but it should be quite similar to it. Of course you must also include the keyword .

Without going any further, I will give you the example of this article: the «Title» is «{Ultimate Guide} What Is SEO Writing? How to Write for SEO?» which is how it will appear in Google.

And the title h1 is  What Is SEO Writing: How To Write An Article To Rank It In Google. The rest of the titles are h2, h3, and h4.

For titles h2, h3 and so on, it is not necessary to include the keyword, although you can always put a synonym for it in some h2.

eye! Do not fall for over-optimization of keywords, because Google will penalize you by lowering your ranking.

As the hierarchy of titles goes down, the importance they have to position in Google decreases.

Optimizing the URL to rank an article in Google

The url is the link linked to the article you are writing. And, how could it be otherwise, it is also highly taken into account by Google.

In this case, Google loves short URLs, with the keyword and that have a semantic relationship

That is, it is better to put a short phrase or just the keyword than to put too many unrelated words.

As for using articles and prepositions in the post url, there are a variety of opinions.

You can find articles in the first positions of Google where they include articles and prepositions in the url; and others in which it does not.

I personally like urls better without these types of words, even if on some occasion I have put one.

Note: To change the Title and URL I advise you to install the WordPress Yoast or Rank math SEO plugin that I talked about in this article

Keyword density

Keyword density is the percentage by which that keyword appears in the total number of words in an article.

To see it, use the plugin that I just recommended (Yoast SEO or Rank Math, whichever you like).

This wonder shows you the exact percentage of the keywords and will also help you with almost everything I am explaining to you in this post.

Unfortunately, keyword density varies greatly depending on the topic of the article and other factors .

However, it is generally recommended that the keyword density be between 1% and 2.5% per article.

Selection of keywords

It is as important to have a good keyword density as knowing how to choose the right ones.

Bold, italic and underlined

In addition to the titles, when writing an article to rank it in Google, you can see that there are other ways to highlight keywords.

Highlighting words indicates to both Google and the reader that they are important words and that is why Google uses them to better position an article among its search results.

But be careful, do not mess with italics, bold and underlines without rhyme or reason for all the keywords.

Using this method to make Google more aware of you is fine, but abusing it can make it difficult to read the article .

Rather than just highlighting the keyword, try highlighting entire phrases that you really think are important. Be careful, whole sentences that have relevance, not whole paragraphs.

Other colors in the texts

The same goes for putting words in other colors.

It is true that a word written in another color attracts more attention (and Google also realizes this), but it is not very good to have a whole text in colors, right?

If you are going to use words in different colors, I recommend that you do not vary much color and that you use it in a very, very exceptional way.

In fact, so far I have not used it on this blog and I do not think I use it.

Adding links to an article improves SEO ranking as  long as two fairly obvious requirements are met:

  • That they provide extra information or be the official site you are talking about.
  • That they are not websites of dubious reputation or with dubious information.

Examples of pages you could link to are: Wikipedia, newspapers or magazines, universities, articles from important sites …

In addition, these links do not have to be all to external websites, but it is also highly recommended (and important) to link to sites on your own website (as long as they have something to do with what is being written, of course).

Table of contents

Google loves the table of content.

It is a universal truth. You only need to take a look at Wikipedia (which is always well ranked) and see that it is riddled with lists everywhere.

For this, I recommend writing TOC whenever you can use them when explaining something or use the Table of Contents Plus plugin. This free plugin will create an amazing table of content.

It is the plugin that I use to make the TOC that you find in all my articles.

Optimize an article with multimedia content

We come to the last part of the article: multimedia content.

Videos, audios and embedded tweets

Implementing multimedia content in your articles gives you 3 advantages for ranking.

  1. More beautiful articles and easier to read and follow.
  2. Increases the time a reader spends on the article.
  3. Improve ranking by adding more value.

As for the number 1 advantage, there is little to say; It is more comfortable for all of us to read something and that it has an image, video or sound that can give us more information.

Advantage 2 makes the time a reader spends on an article longer (for example, the time it takes to play a video from start to finish) and this is taken into account by Google, which will make us go up a few positions in the ranking from search results (also called SERPs).

The last advantage not only comes as a result of the increase in the time they spend on our website but also Google will detect these multimedia contents and will see that the value provided is much greater than if there were only text, so seo will also improve.

Images

In addition to what I just told you about the multimedia content, it is important that you put an ALT attribute on all the images that you include in your articles.

This is an HTML attribute that you can find in the images of your WordPress with the name of « Alternative Text «.

It is important that both the image title and alt text contain the keyword .

It is a factor that Google takes into account a lot and you should not forget.

So if you already have a blog and you have forgotten this detail, quickly run to put it in all the images and you will see how your articles start to ranking in Google.

Don’t forget to optimize your images before uploading them to WordPress to improve SEO!

Now it’s your turn.
